Former Kenyan footballer Dennis Oliech has revealed that he will be joining French Ligue 1 club, FC Nantes before the end of the year.
The 32-year-old striker who is among footballers who have elevated Kenya's football scene to what it is today, played for Nantes in 2005 having signed a $3.7 million (Ksh.382 million) but left after two years after the team was relegated. He has also played for top flight clubs like Auxerre and Ajaccio.
Oliech claims he will earn a monthly pay of 250,000 Euros (Ksh30.4 million). “I landed a one-year deal with French Ligue 1 club FC Nantes, which will see me stay at the club till the end of 2018. I will return to Kenya in May, 2018 during the break. My monthly salary at the football club will be 250,000 Euros (Ksh30.4 million) a month. The signing will cost FC Nantes 4 million Euros (Ksh486 million),” said Oliech.
The former Harambee Stars captain says the one-year contract will span January through December, 2018. Speaking from Dubai on Wednesday, October 4, Oliech said he was headed to Nantes for a medical.
