JUBILEE SPEAKER KENNETH LUSAKA REVEALS WHY JUBILEE SUPPORTERS REFUSED TO VOTE

Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka has revealed why majority of Jubilee supporters failed to turn up to vote in Bungoma County on Thursday during the repeat presidential election.

Addressing the press after voting at Mapela primary school, the former Governor noted that many voters failed to show up because of leaflets circulated threatening residents who intended to vote.

The Senate Speaker stated that most residents feared possible attacks against them in case they participated in the exercise.

Leaflets labeled 'No reforms No elections' were circulated two days before the election in various parts of the Western region including Webuye, Kimilili, and Chwele.

"Those leaflets made people afraid. However, they turned up in large numbers in some areas after we assured them total security," Mr Lusaka noted. Sirisia MP John Waluke, who is the Jubilee Party Chairman in the region noted that the Raila Odinga-led team failed to convince its supporters in the region not to vote.
