IEBC CHAIRMAN WAFULA CHEBUKATI MAKES MAJOR CHANGES TO IEBC AHEAD OF THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

According to the Chairman, 36 delegates deliberated and penned the changes in accordance with the Supreme Court ruling that nullified the August 8 presidential election.

The 36 officials are scheduled to further train Support Election Trainers (SETs) on the revised laws between Wednesday and Friday.

The SETs will subsequently conduct induction exercises for Constituency Returning Officers (ROs) and their deputies, Presiding Officers (POs) and their deputies, as well as ICT officers and support staff who will run the fresh presidential election beginning Saturday and ending on Tuesday.

Mr Chebukati announced that the final list of POs and polling clerks who will conduct the election will be published on October 15.

The officials will then be deployed to the 40,883 polling stations on the eve of the election depending on whether logistical arrangements will have been completed.
