IEBC CHAIRMAN WAFULA CHEBUKATI DEMANDS TOP OFFICIALS WHO WERE INVOLVED IN ELECTION IRREGULARITIES TO STEP DOWN AS HE CONFIRMS THEY ARE NOT READY TO CONDUCT A CREDIBLE ELECTION
Chebukati revealed that various proposals he had made to the Commissioners had been shot down on many occasions due to lack of numbers in the Commission.
He urged President Uhuru Kenyatta and his rival, NASA leader Raila Odinga to embrace amicable talks and promised to organise an opportunity for the two to meet.
The IEBC Chair further cautioned Kenyans who had taken for granted the leaps the country has made towards the upholding of democracy.
Mr Chebukati expressed that the IEBC team has put in tireless efforts to ensure that the repeat election is conducted according to the directions of the Supreme Court.
