...the postponement of October 26th repeat elections.

The petitioners argued that the electoral commission cannot put together a fair and credible election. 

Their claims come a week after IEBC Chair, Wafula Chebukati, said he cannot guarantee the country a free and fair poll owing to the current political situation. 

The commission is a divided lot, with this evident in a recent admission by the former commissioner, Roselyn Akombe. 

Akombe resigned last week saying there was a lot of interference from politicians, meaning that they could not perform their duties as expected.
