ANOTHER TOP KENYAN UNIVERSITY SHUTDOWN INDEFINITELY

Mount Kenya University has suspended all learning ongoing on it's Main Campus in Thika.

A circular from the Vice-Chancellor's office released on Monday morning directed students in the campus to leave in the course of the day.

A representative for the institution stated: "The students have left. A statement will be issued later today."

The representative refused to reveal the reasons for the sudden closure, only stating that a comprehensive statement detailing reasons for the decision would be issued.

Mount Kenya University's Thika Campus Political uncertainty has been cited by some news sources as the main reason behind the abrupt decision by the institution's leadership.

This comes barely a week after the University of Nairobi was closed due to a deteriorating security situation largely influenced by politics.
