23-year-old John Mwirigi also said he only had the one sweater that he's always wearing. 

Mwirigi, an orphan, conducted door to door campaigns and used boda bodas to reach the masses. With no shilling to spare, he did not put up a single campaign poster like his competitiors who splashed the constituency with their posters. 

He got an education funded by well wishers and never greased constituents hands. He, however, promised to improve their lives because he knows and has lived their problems.

His win continues to inspire many who believe he is a crop above other parliamentarians who enjoy splashing their wealth for all to see on television and social media.
