GOVERNMENT REVEALS WHEN IEBC OFFICIALS INVOLVED IN ELECTION MISMANAGEMENT WILL BE PROSECUTED
Responding to a petition to undertake investigations and necessary prosecution on IEBC staff, the DPP the Supreme Court. He explained that he was yet to take action since the Court had not issued the detailed and reasoned ruling, which will contain the particulars and substance of the irregularities and illegalities found to have been committed by IEBC.
The DPP noted that it's only after receiving these details that he will be able to give clear, precise and specific directions to the Inspector General of Police or other criminal investigative agencies so as to facilitate a holistic and comprehensive investigation.
He further assured that his office takes seriously its constitutional and legal mandate and obligations.
On Wednesday, the Kura Yangu Sauti Yangu group wrote to the Prosecutions boss seeking his intervention in regard to criminal offences allegedly committed by the Commissioner and IEBC staff.
