The election petitioners were also required to deposit a refundable security of Sh500,000 for the governor, senator, MP and Woman Representative cases. 

Applicants for the MCA positions were required to deposit a security fee of Sh100,000. 

In the Gazette notice, 34 petitions were filed against governors, 15 against senators, 12 for Woman Representatives, 98 for members of National Assembly and 129 for Members of the County Assembly (MCAs). 

Petitions against all the elective posts excluding MCAs will be heard and determined by the High Court Judge designated by the Chief Justice.
