Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader, Musalia Mudavadi, has revealed that members of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) are too divided to conduct a fresh presidential poll on October 17th.

In a statement issued by his spokesman, Kibisu Kabatesi, Mudavadi said that the commission’s Chairman, Wafula Chebukati, has been sidelined by most of the team in a bid to sabotage him and his operations. 

“Chebukati may be putting on a brave face but we all know he has been isolated," said Kabatesi.

Kabatesi said all the commissioners are supporting IEBC CEO, Ezra Chiloba.

This is the main reason why Chebukati is sidelined despite initiating reforms to ensure the October 17th election is free and fair.

“His efforts to reform the IEBC before the October 17th election has been thwarted by greedy commissioners led by Chiloba and Vice chairperson of the commission,” he said.
