IEBC CHAIRMAN WAFULA CHEBUKATI ISSUES STERN WARNING TO JUBILEE PARTY ... YOU WON'T FORCE ME TO DO WHAT YOU WANT

IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati on Wednesday night made a new statement after President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party rejected the election team constituted for the October elections.

In a letter to Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju, Chebukati noted that the Commission is an independent body and as such it cannot be directed by political parties or individuals on how to handle its matters.

"Please note that the Commission is an independent constitutional body, which as per Article 249 of the Constitution shall not be subject to direction or control by any person or authority. “It is therefore unacceptable for you to provide a list of staff that you direct should not be members of the project team,” Chebukati's letter read in part.

The Chair called on Jubilee and NASA to respect the constitution and invited the parties leadership for a meeting today to discuss pertinent issues regarding the Presidential elections.
