CHAOS AND PROTESTS BREAKOUT IN KISUMU OVER 'VOTE BUYING' SCHEME
Kisumu youth on Wednesday held street protests, blocking roads and engaging police in a standoff after they stormed a hotel where a group of women were meeting.
The youth angrily protested what they believed to be a secret meeting to sell National Identity Cards (IDs) ahead of the October 17 presidential poll.
Several women were injured after they were attacked by the armed youth before the hotel decided to lock doors to protect the women.
The angry youth chanted songs and lit fires along the road outside the said hotel as police held guard to prevent the chaos from escalating.
