AN EMOTIONAL CS KIUNJURI SPEAKS FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE HIS DAUGHTER WAS BLAMED FOR THE MOI GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL FIRE THAT LEFT 10 STUDENTS DEAD

He called on the person who came up with the distasteful allegations to issue a public apology to the families affected by the tragedy.

"The cowardly anonymous originator of this rumour should apologize to the affected families and desist from publishing this or any other unfounded malicious stories. May the girls who lost their lives rest in perfect peace," he added.

On Thursday, a student injured in the Moi Girls' School inferno died in hospital bringing the total number of deceased to 10.

The National Disaster Management Unit communications director Paul Masai confirmed that the student died at about 5:30 am. Mr Masai stated that the parents had already been informed and had identified the body.
