6 SURPRISING CAUSES OF BODY ODOR OR SMELL AND HOW TO TREAT IT

There are occasional body odors that cannot be tackled by just scrubbing, brushing or even applying deodorant. The stench just refuses to go away.

Well, below are some causes why you get body odor and how to treat it;

1. STRESS
The body's natural response to a stressful situation is to sweat. There are different types of sweat and the smelliest happens to be stress sweat that is produced by the sweat glands called apocrine glands.
This glands produce an odorless less-watery sweat that turns pungent once it mixes with bacteria on our skin. Sweat from exercise or hot weather is usually composed of water and electrolytes and isn't very smelly.

Solution;
Apply a strong clinical antiperspirant or deodorant.
Wash your clothes regularly to decrease the build-up of bacteria that breaks down sweat into odor causing by products.

2. WEARING CLOSED SHOES WITHOUT SOCKS
Whenever you slip your bare feet into closed shoes you are asking for feet odor. Socks absorb the moisture produced in our feet so whenever you wear closed shoes without socks means your bathe in their own sweat. This build up causes bad foot odor that could last for days.

Solution;
Before wearing your shoes, apply some feet antiperspirant.
Take your shoes off once in a while to give them some fresh air which helps ward off bacteria growth.
When you get home soak your feet in a bacteria killing solution of one part vinegar and one part water.
Do not wear the same shoes two days in a row.
